Welcome

(More To Come)

From Sir Forgal, Greetings, All!

This is the Moose Lodge Post Pennsic Report for Pennsic 09.  Bottom line, things went very well indeed.  Both Camp Set Up and Camp Break Down went exceptionally well, and while we will be hard pressed to exceed the accomplishments of this last Pennsic in that that regard, I will take if for our new standard.  Well Done to All who helped to make it so.

I would especially like to thank some of You who worked so diligently and so well to make all of this happen:  My Friend and Brother, Jarl Timoch, My Lady Wife, Vycountess Mistress Elitha, My Household Bard THL Ambra, My  New Squires, Squire Finian (who brought along His 17 year old Son, Gareth, ) and of course the Classic Land Grab Mainstays, Duke Olaf’s Squire Arathon (Art), and Squire Arielle, as well as Squire Earnie.   You all were essential to making Land Grab far more fun than usual.

With the assistance of House Black Spear of Atlantia, who lent us both an empty Moving Van and a Driver for the afternoon, (Thanks !) We were able to work from noon til 6 PM on Saturday and thus set up virtually ALL of the Camp’s Common Use Structures.  The 20x40 Entertainment Tent.  The 20x20 Armor Tent.  The 20x20 Kitchen Tent.  The 20x20 Storage Tent.  The 20x12 Shower Tent, along with the Water Heater and Propane hooked up and working.  We were able to have hot showers that evening, before going into Town for the traditional Beer-4-Less and Burger King Run.  We all set up cots and slept in the Entertainment Tent and Armor Tent that night.  Sunday was devoted to setting up everyone’s personal Tents/Pavilions.  By Monday we had dug the Fire Pit, gotten the Firewood, and put the finishing touches in Camp.  Extraordinary.

I would also especially like to Thank my Squire Finian for assuming the onerous duties of Running the Kitchen, and Jarl Timoch for reigning me in when needed, -for which I am sure my Squires were doubly grateful… -Thanks, Tim and Finian!

We had a visiting group in Camp this year.  Raven’s Cove, from Atlantia,  They requested to Camp with us and observe how a large Camp operates.  I had explained to them the Camp Rules, and they adhered to them perfectly.  They were a BIG help in Camp.  Thanks Guys.  Let me know if you want to do this again.

Camp Break Down also went exceptionally well.  Starting at noon on Friday, We all pitched in with a will, and were FINISHED by 6 PM.  That’s right.  Six hours after the beginning of Break Down, all Communal Structures, (Entertainment Tent, Armor Tent, Kitchen Tent, Storage Tent, Shower Tent) and Support Equipment (Remaining Tables, Benches, Lamps, Kitchen Equipment, Shower Equipment, Armor Stands, Camp Tools, etc)  were safely stored away in the Lodge Storage Trailers, as well as the Fire Pit being filled in.  With only personal Tents and Pavilions left in Camp, People were released to depart by 6 PM.  Extraordinary, what can be done when everyone works together, No?   Well Done, To All…  Very much looking forward to next Pennsic.

Have a Good One! -F
